It's not looking good.

A couple of months ago I tried to rescue my website by doing pencil only work and doubling up on ISM stories. It didn't work.

Subscriptions leveled off for a few months and now my numbers really took a hit this month. New people seem to be canceling and aren't coming back. I've only had a small number of new subscribers this month, not enough to cope with the losses. I don't even know why, really.

I'll try adding superheroine stories after I finish up the current ISM. ISM will remain, of course. I'm also  contemplating just going all super heroine. These are last ditch attempts at rescuing things before I have to shut down.

I've had a lot of tell tales. My low number of commissions. My subscription numbers have never gone up, just down. And I've only found one place that my stuff has even been pirated. They just don't bother with my work. I guess I'm kind of insulted.

Anyway, I intend to put my work on Hentai Foundry and see if that helps at all. It's kind of an ocean of artwork over there, one I'll likely be lost in, but I'll give it a shot.

I've also got a ton of competition. A lot of websites backed by studios in Brazil are up selling the same thing. Jim Balent's web comics cost 4 bucks a month. But he's Jim Balent.

Well, we'll see what happens.

  1. Awwww that sucks to hear. Good idea on Hentai Foundry, you could also do Deviantart for more exposure. A tumblr page might also help, also doing one or few pieces of popular comic characters might help. I would really hate to see you go. :(

  2. Who knows, Hentai Foundry might provide the exposure you need.

  3. Somewhere along the line I got the idea you weren't taking commissions. What did I miss?

  4. Also, summer is a slow season. People aren't spending time on their computers and spending their money on other things. See what happens with Autumn.

    1. This is true. August has been awful. I should be able to stay with things for a while yet, especially if I can get things set up on DA and HF and Tumblr.

  5. Can't say for sure, but you may want to look at the way you've mixed genres?

  6. Well the two ISM stories I saw when I joined up seemed mostly to be incest stories. Not really what I signed up for.

    1. Oh, right! Yeah, that story was a commission that I got permission to put up when I was starting out and it wasn't really even an ISM story. And it wasn't even my story. I've pulled it since and you wont see it anymore. And I take your point. I lost a lot of business when I was doing the Moms Weekend story, and while many have said that it was just too long, some also have said they really didn't like it at all. And that makes a lot of sense to me.

There are a few who have been urging me to do more incest stories because there's a big audience for it. But in the end I feel that it is such a turn off to many or most of my subscribers that it would do me a lot of damage to continue on in that vein. So, yeah it may well have been a not so cool thing to pop into the mix. I don't expect to be doing it again, though I will be doing the milf stories, which some may say are faux incest. I think there's a world of difference, though. I wrote hundreds of stories of M9 that didn't have incest in them and I think that's likely what people are looking for in a site that I'm doing.

  7. what about adding other artists? guest artists?
i'm not the fastest artist but i'd like to showcase some work or work on a side story, but i'm not sure if you want to go down that road or even consider such things?

i'm wishing you luck and definitely let me know when you are up on deviant art~!!

  8. I'm going to be narrowing the focus of the site to Superheroines and ISM. I'm trying to bring the product of the site into focus. That being the case, I think adding other artists on the weekly schedule would be working against the focus I'm after. But there may be a way to have guest artists in a guest artist section.

I will let you know when the Deviant art thing is up.

  9. I was turned off by the incest stuff. Also you start a story then leave it for a month or so and do installments on other stories and I would prefer a flow with a story. Start it and work on it till the end. Or work on maybe three stories and don't add any new ones till a story ends. I don't mind your pencil work in fact I'd prefer more pages posted over a fewer posts with color.

    1. Sticking with a story until it's done is really a good idea. I have to mull it over though since I have people here who like ISM, for instance, and want to see him every month. But since I'm only giving them 3 pages a month, it may be that they might prefer to see it through to the end. Maybe I could do three installments on one story each month and one installment on ISM.

Also, I've decided that my pencilled work looks better than my inked stuff in that it's more refined. It lacks the clean ness of inks but it seems to be a bit more precise. It's what I'm used to at any rate, and seems to be what I do best, IMO. Also, it appears to be faster.

And yes, I agree that I'm not posting enough work. I'll keep trying to remedy that.

Don't look for more incest here. Too many are turned off by it.
